My mom has worked in the nursery at community hospital for 30 years, you should hear some of the crazy stories shes has about the idiot doctors there.

Um... Nurses deliver babies all the time. Doctors are not able to attend all deliveries. Makes no sense to push if doc isn't there yet and baby looks good. Never heard about the tearing related to pushing too early.

Lots of misdirected emotions here. I didn't read anything in the post to prove doctor was inappropriate. Nurses are capable of saving cord blood, and typically save for research if parents decline to save.

Saving cord blood is the most expensive and least likely to be useful insurance you can buy. Get the safe!
