    The pack you pick is up to you. I do however suggest that you don't use anything that looks military. The purpose of a "Get Home Bag" is just that, to get home. You want something inconspicuous. You don't want to walk around looking like a guy who's ready for anything, because WTSHTF there will be a lot of people who are not prepared and you could be the guy walking around looking like Rambo. The last thing you want is a bunch of people who arn't ready looking at you like your their next meal ticket. Maxpedition makes some nice messenger bags with a hidden compartment for a gun. They come in solid colors and camo. Again I suggest a solid color.

    My sons old Lacrosse bag is great because it has a zip out area that holds his short stick, but is great for extra room.
