My wife brought me some bakes from Coney Island in Kokomo for supper last night. Just ate 2 cold ones for breakfast. Awesome. My coworkers will love me today.

For you poor souls who have never had a bake. It's some sort of mystery meat shaped like a hotdog on a bun with chili, onions, and mustard. Pure deliciousness.

Yeah, when I worked at Delphi in Kokomo we used to go get them occasionally. It is essentially just a coney dog that is baked. We especially liked the sight of the owner and his big hairy ass arm stacking like 10 of them on it while making them to place them in the oven. None the less, they are enjoyable for when you want to spend hours on the toilet the next day.

When I was in college, A fraternity brother's family owned a local drive-in. Every Wednesday (I think it was) was chili dog day. He would bring grocery sacks full of leftover chilidogs to the house in the evening. Invariably, it got ugly in a couple hours.

Hell no it's not a hotdog. It can only be described as hamburger like. But are they good. Haven't had one for years. Taking Friday off from work so I might have to head up and have a few.

It looks like a turd but they taste great. I have no idea what all they put in it. I'm sure the recipe is top secret.

No, I have the recipe at home!

I'll dig it out for you.

Kind of like a mini meatloaf.
They are baked in the oven in a tray of tomato juice.

The chili over the top is a must with the white onion and yellow mustard.

For anyone looking Louie's is on Hoffer street just off US31 north of Kokomo Mall.
I did like their old "old" location downtown..... had more atmosphere.

"mystery meat" sounds good, probably not good for you but you have to take some risks in life if you are going to enjoy it. ;)

Would you happen to have a recipe for their chili? I love that style of chili that doesn't have tomato for a base.

Yes, their downtown location was cool. Now if we can just get them to open on Sunday. I'm rarely in Kokomo any day other than Sunday.
