My family and I were returning from dropping my FIL off at home after knee surgery taking the scenic route (river road) when I spotted the glaring bright white head and tail just west of rangline road off 24.

My 3 year old was super excited. I stopped to try to take a picture but the male eagle was too keen and flew away. I tried once more and he went a bit further away. Then I lost sight of him around a bend in the river.

I know there are nests in wabash and I think there is still one near Salamonie...was really surprised to see one this close to town.

I've seen a few of them over the years, a few in Northern California when I lived near Lake Shasta, and then in South East Texas near Houston. I seen a youngster trying to steal a meal from it's parent once...I assumed it was the parent anyway..?

I have not spotted one here in Indiana yet.
