Would you rather have half of the country's land and live among the half the country that feels like you do, or would you rather have the nation as it is, and live amongst the others?

I think this is inevitable. The differences have become so great that I do not think we can any longer remain one nation without one side being oppressive to the other.

If you're serious about this, lets hit up Shallows on the south side they have hundreds of varieties of beer; also we could do The Ram downtown, they make their own beers as well.

Oh, I was quite serious. Ram is great. But the food at Alcatraz is superb. How does Saturday, June 19th sound? Its three weeks away, might be able to get a good group together.

How would we go about scheduling something for the forum to see?

I'm not keen on Alcatraz's beer, wanna do rock bottom instead? They brew their own beer and I hear the food is pretty good.

Whatever works, myself and INGO member shockabookoo will be there :yesway:

About scheduling if I'm not mistaken the post has to be created or approved by a moderator - don't quote me on that.

What we are doing now is akin to telling cancer it can have one lung and one kidney but it can't have anything else. Socialism,
like cancer, can't be contained. It must be eradicated. I'm not risking my life for
freedom for the obamabots so they can vote
for the next socialist that comes along. Give the left everything west of the Mississippi and well take the rest. Put a minefield a mile wide on both sides. Choose your side, move and live with the consequences of your choice.

The American flag is the symbol of America. A lot of good blood has been shed to allow that flag to fly freely. I, as many others on this board, have served under that flag to support our way of life. Blood has been shed under that flag so every citizen in this country can speak their mind, practice their religion, pursue their careers and raise their families. I still tear up at times when I see that flag boldly flying in the breeze. It sickens me when people come to this country to reap the benefits that have been so bravely fought for by others and criticize that flag. The flag is part of the package. If you come here and want the benefits but disrespect the flag you have no right to be here. Also if you were born here and have never done anything to serve or protect or respect that flag you don't belong here either. That is my flag, that is our flag and if you feel as if it's not your flag you need to get the HELL out. JMHO.

Right on brother. The flag is just a symbol. To those who sacrificed under it, it probably has a more intensive meaning. From those in our military who fought (and are fighting this hour) against tyranny, to those firefighters who raised Old Glory at ground zero, it means bloodshed and sacrifice, but even more it means hope that our struggle for liberty will endure. It is a taunt, I suppose, to those who would subjugate us. I know that I have flown it regularly since 9-11. It is my way of showing respect for those who fight the oppressors every day. It is also my way of thumbing my nose at terrorists and any one else who would tear down this country, from without or from within. It should be flown at all public schools and other public buildings to honor those who made it all possible. There are some things on which we shouldn't budge. This is one of them. Any school administrator, teacher, or school board member who doesn't believe in displaying the flag at school needs to be brought to task by those who pay their salaries and vote them into office. We need to be vigilant.

My earlier + should make up for it. I agree that there are people that worship the flag and have no clue what it truely represents. It's like Christianity. Many have religion but not as many have Jesus. They're so wrapped up in the institution of religion that they forget what is at the center of their religion.

I know what the American flag represents, and i have carried it into battle. Like i said before. you dont have to like the government to love your country. America, is ours: THE PEOPLE. and the FLAG is ours not the governments. Im not in the military anymore, but if it come to my COUNTRY needing me again, i will be there, and it will be the AMERICAN STARS & STRIPES THAT I CARRY INTO BATTLE!!!!

America is the peoples, not the government and the flag is our symbol of freedon that waves in defiance in the faces of our enemies, both foreign and domestic!

our founders didn't create this country by talking and waving a flag. We aren't going to take it back by talking and waving the flag. Put up or shut up time came many years ago. Were still talking and waving our flags. We're drawing a new line in the sand and retreating at every infringement of our liberties. We're long past flag waving. Are we as a nation going to take this country back or talk? If it's the latter, I suggest we put our flags away and let our chains rest lightly on us.

Patriotism spikes when our Country has it's back pushed against the wall - 9/11. During WWII, what do you think would have happen if some free speech activist openly burned the Stars and Stripes? All hell would have broken loose. That person would have had his nvts chopped off and placed in a jar and those nvts would be on display today for all to see. Today, some jacka*s puts lighter fluid on the Flag, lites it and we stand back and talk about how disrespectful that is. It's not because we're unwilling to do anything, it's because it has been beat into our subconscious that free speech is worth defending. Other countries, wow...if someone disrespects their flag, there will be a decapitation on you tube.

This really stood out in my mind and nobody mentioned it.

Isn't it?? Isn't free speech worth defending?

Maybe freedom of speech is too much for us to handle. Maybe we should abolish the 1st Amendment so none of us get offended? Maybe the Federal Government should send the Gestapo out to arrest people for offensive speech and unpatriotic thoughts. We'll call it the Ministry of Speech.

Let's not let the hot topic of the day make us stop defending liberty and the Constitution. Freedom to be an idiot is still a freedom worth defending.

This is what we have become. A country afraid to hurt someone's feelings. Fine lines have been not only crossed, but trampled on in the last 20 years. It's sad really.

I keep wondering who are these people that think this is a good idea? I don't know anyone that would support this...quite the opposite... maybe i just don't know that many other people...
