I'm building my last house/barn. I don't think I'm complaining about unrealistic things, and with the state of the contractors in the area I have to put up with people who think because they have a hammer and tape measure they are contractors.
There have been many things but the latest issue is Grommets.
The plumbers, electrician and furnace guys are just running pipes, and wires through holes in the tin, I have already had to pull the A/C coil line back out and show the guy where he cut through the insulation by letting it hit the tin, I told him he had to use a nipple/cable gland/ something, but since I don't know the exact word that they use for the item I'm an idiot and don't know what I'm talking about.
I can't find in the Indiana code where it mandates protection when you penetrate the outer wall.
Does anyone know of the code that covers this. Inspection is coming Wednesday for Rough in, but I'm sure this guy is as sharp as a marble and as long as he can't see it from the truck seat it will pass.
but I need the actual code to show these guys,
I can write 15 pages of stupid stuff I've already had to just live with or go in after I get home and fix myself.
