BCM "Filthy 14" AR Goes 31,165 rounds

This is somewhat dated material (late last year), but an interesting read nonetheless for those who haven't heard of "Filthy 14".

Pat Rogers of EAG Tactical did some major T&E on this gun for BCM, and then published the results in SWAT Magazine.

Just remember, ARs are finicky and must be clean to run reliably.

Contrary to what was written in the article, Filthy 14 has not been decommissioned or rebuilt; it is still being used as an EAG loaner gun and had 44,070 rounds through it as of late March. It has been cleaned (i.e. bolt wiped down and bore punched), though.

I personally wouldn't, as Pat and I differ somewhat in our choice of AR configurations and accessories.

Besides, there's no need to build when you can buy; "Filthy 14" was the prototype for the EAG Tactical carbine that BCM is now selling.
