Beach fishing, South Haven MI

Going to be spending a week in South Haven, MI. We will have a house near the beach, and plan to fish from it. Anyone have any experience/advice for fishing in the area?

MI just changes the fees for the license. a non-res is 76.00 now. The only option is a non-restricted license. Even the two day pass was expensive. I went with the season for 76.00. every fish got cheaper....

never been to that part of MI, but I would fish it just like I would down here. Some casting baits and the maybe hook/worm if you get tired.
