    Mine has the sintered metal receiver and after studying options for re-bluing I have come to the conclusion that I will not attempt it myself. Winchester used 3 different techniques from post 64 to 81. Found a company that knows the Winchester and will reblue the receiver with the barrel still attached and the same process used depending on the mfg year. I asked for a quote if I send it with the receiver and barrel stripped. Gunblack.com gave me a quote of $175 which includes return shipping. If anyone has used them let me know.

    I will do this and report back with before and after pictures.
