Great information guys I've been thinking about shooting in competitions myself. I have a g23 but wasn't sure there were any competitions that I could shoot in or not get beat all over the range by "pros".

There is always going to be someone better than you at the range.
There is always going to be someone worse than you at the range.

You could shoot the g23 in USPSA in these divisions:
Limited 10 major (only 10 rounds loaded)
Limited major (no limit on rounds, 140mm magazine)
Production (all scored as minor, dominated by 9mm, 10 round limit)

Friday night steel and Steel challenge would be fun places. There is no major/minor so the "pros" are using the lowest recoil ammo they can.

But really, I'd go and shoot. If you find out you really love it and want to have the best equipment, then go out and spend money.

    Rookies Welcome!

I'm not sure if someone else has mentioned this match, but Friday Night Steel hosted at Marion County Fish & Game is a great time and can help get you used to gunning under a clock while among a great group of people.

The next match is coming up Friday, April 12th @ 6pm for the Safety Brief (5:30 register)
