Bent 45 acp brass

Was out shooting with a friend and noticed that his 1911 just knocks the heck out of his brass. I've attached some pictures to try and show the damage to the casing. Any thoughts?

Ejection port hasn't be lowered and flared. It's normal for an unmodified pistol.

My Springfield GI does this to about 20% of my brass. I wanted to tinker with it but it runs 100% reliable so I leave it alone.

i had a 1911 that did that, but like burnin brass said above it ran reliable

Bent brass

Just lower the port with a file. A little at a time, test then do it again.
I had to do it with Colts years ago.

i wouldn't worry about it. if that is all it is doing to the brass and the gun runs, leave it. the reloading process will straighten out brass in much worse shape than that.
