    REPR is more at $3200 - 3500.

I am also throwing the LMT MWS into the mix since it only runs about $2500 and has great reviews.

I have a Larue OBR. 18" Barrel. I absolutely love it. Most accurate thing I have touched. It sounds like you have made up your mind but I thought I'd chime in anyway.

LaRue is on my short list as well...just sounded like it might be a long wait to get one. LaRue's seem to be made to order vs production guns stocked at shops...maybe I am wrong.

Read a good head to head with the LaRue, LMT, and LWRC...all were very good.

My mine will not be made up until I sell mine and have the cash to buy whatever I end up choosing...

Thanks for the first hand on the OBR...

    Made my decision...

Here is what it came down too:

    1. LWRC REPR:
    • Price: $3200 and up at most on-line places.
    • Did not find one locally to touch and hold.
    • Really love the left hand charging handle. Works better with optics.
    • Piston driven.
Did not go with this one since I could not justify the cost based on my usage.
    2. FN SCAR 17s:
    • Price: $3000 at local gun shop
    • Felt good in my hands. Good balance.
    • Proprietary parts not compatible with other rifles.
    • Expensive proprietary mags...also hard to find.
    • Piston driven.
Did not go with this one either. I could not justify the cost and the proprietary parts and mags.
    3. LMT MWS:
    • Price: $2500 - $3200 depending on barrel
    • Felt good in my hands. Balance did not seem too bad. Not light, but not overly heavy either.
    • Easy change barrels. Probably will not really use this...
    • Uses standard "AR-10" style parts and mags so replacement parts should not be an issue.
This is the option I ended up going with. Found one locally for the right price, without having to wait.

I did consider some of the other suggestions (POF, JP, LaRue). Primary reason I did not go with them is cost and availability. I did not want to spend more money and wait some unknown amount of time. The LMT I found was right enough on price and did not have to wait...

Should have a range report for it in the near future...

Any thoughts on the SIG716? I know they just came out with them recently. I don't have any experience with one, but it's just another option for you. Maybe others on here might have some experience with one?

Appears to be an Armalite AR10 with Sig's name attached to it.

There are quite a few options for the M14 platform. While I am a traditionalist when it comes to the M14 rifle, there are some mighty fine looking modern versions to consider.
