loading up on .223 these days and wanted to know if anyone has uncovered a "perfect fit" ammo can for bulk .223 storage. Assuming I am keeping the ammo in the 20rnd boxes - is there a can (50 cal for example) whose dimensions allow you to perfectly fill the box with no wasted space with boxed ammo?

    Just a thought?

Unsure of the 20 round boxes but, I was able to fit 960 out of 990 rounds that came packed in 30 round boxes of the ATI SS109 ammo into a 50 caliber can. It was a pretty snug fit and had just enough room to toss in a few dessicant packs.

I have had pretty good luck with .50 cal cans and federal 200 rd boxes.

Not to be Mr Obvious, but the 5.56 boxes that the military uses would also be a pretty good bet that .223 would fit pretty evenly too.
