Enjoying some Redemption Rye this evening. Little spice in the beginning and then it smooths out. No burn in the belly Overall a nice rye.

I seem to be on a Rye kick lately. Picked up a bottle of Jack Daniels Rye this evening. First sip the mouth was nice but it hit the back of my throat with a burn. Next sip the burn was gone overall I like it.

Picked up a Boone County 12 year and a Boone County 12 year Barrel Proof store pick (121.76 proof), not sure if I'll bust into the barrel proof but the regular 12 year (at 90.8 proof) is down right delicious

New liquor store by my place still has no Blanton's... but they did have some Russel's Reserve Rye, which I hadn't seen anywhere else.

    Pretty tasty for ~$40

I was at Meijer the other day when I ran across this. It was just randomly placed with all the other bottles. Anyone come across this before? My googlefu only pulled up red white and blue. Not just red and blue. Did I find the golden ticket? Oh man, I could do some damage inside that distillery.

Most of the time they're special runs to mark an occasion, or a special order

I have a bottle of Makers with a blue and gold top

Bourbon related....drinking a Widow Jane now, good color but probably $40 over priced.

Also found a bottle of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof a few weeks ago, the shocker was that the liquor store only received 3 bottles and somehow it lasted on the shelf for 4 days after they got it

My drink for the evening is Wild Turkey Rye. A light amber color with a nice mouth feel. Little bit of spice with a nice warmth going down but no burn in the belly.
