A friend called me one day, trying to move his G34 and asked if I wanted it. He was asking $400. Gun had a Dawson FO front, Hienie rear sights and the sweetest 1.5 lb trigger you ever shot.

A family friend needed some quick cash and offered my dad his untouched Series 70, nickel plated Colt .45 for $500, last year.

Got a Ruger New Model Blackhawk 357 magnum in stainless steel for $80.00 at an Auction. Traded it plus a little cash a year later for a new Ruger GP100

SW Model 19 for $250, or was it $200? Either way, got the good end of that deal. Occasionally I regret not buying the K-22 from the same guy. I think I heard after the fact that it went down the road for $175. At that price I wish I had bought it.

Oh, and a G19 with a Barstow barrel plus mags, etc. for cheap. Don't remember the price but I know the seller regretted it.

#1) Baikal PM 153 Retail was marked $450. The gun had sat for a couple years on the rack (or "been here forever" according to the clerk). Brand new, collecting dust. I asked to see it ... marked down to $275. I offered $200 cash, they practically escorted me out the door. I came back a few days later and again offered $200 and got a response of "we don't discount our guns any further than marked". I pulled out $200 cash and laid it on the counter. SOLD ... moral to the story ... Cash talks, B.S. walks, even in a big box store. I hunted the hell out of that gun, it never missed a beat, and I sold it a few weeks ago for a $100 profit.

#2) Marlin 1894C in .357. I got a call from Gander in Coldwater about a used 1894 that needed the stock refinished. I asked how much, they said, $300. I told them I'd come and look at it. I offered them $250, they said OK, then I proceeded to pull out several gift cards and other discounts that had been given to me, a couple I had won at fund raiser events, etc., and an in store promotion. I ended up walking out with the gun and a box of ammo for $135. It took some talking, but they had to honor all the stuff that I presented them with. The moral ... never roll over to the big box guys.

#3) Thompson Center Omega .50 muzzleloader. I got wind of an auction where a guy that I loosely knew was getting rid of a bunch of guns. One gun in particular was a stainless Omega with the gray laminent stock. $550 gun at the time. The owner told me that it only had a couple dozen rounds through it. I looked it over well and new this would go for a deal. At $250, the bidder thought he had it won and that is when I jumped in to ruin his day. $280 and I took it home.:): The moral this time ... be prepared at all times to jump on a deal.

I've scored some pretty awesome deals over the years, but those three rank up there as the three best.

I've got some stupid funny profit margin stories on guns that I bought pre-AWB and then sold post-AWB. Like the SKS that I cleared $500 on.:lmfao:

I scored a LNIB (had been purchased, but never fired) Ruger Mk II NRA Special Edition with the red cocobolo grips for $300 during the waning days of Albro.

I sold it less than a year later because I couldn't see the freaking black on black sights. DOH!!!

Got a blued, yes blued Springfield Loaded for $450 at a gun show.

I've got a Colt Gov't .380 LNIB w/ papers made in 1988 for $575, (currently on lay-a-way) only comparable price was a similar package on GunsAmerica for $910.

I bought my Browning Buckmark 5.5" Pro Target for $185 (used) at a Gander Mountain, I haven't been able to find another .22 of similar make for under $200 used.

LNIB HK45 (the new one) for $675 from a guy who wanted to switch to a 1911. He'd only put about 200 rounds thru it.

Came with both mags, back-straps, extra O rings, manual, everything. He told me he payed $899 for it and felt he couldn't sell it at that price since he'd fired it. When I broke it down the first time I couldn't find any wear marks on the barrel.

I got an m1a on a bet if that counts.

I also got my SVT-40 for $450 at a gun show. I didn't even know what the gun was, just that it fit into my WW2 collection. Now I am glad I did. No import marks and it is pretty clean for it being from 41!
