Royal purple 0 w 20 and lucas green farm industial grease. 5 years ago I would have said 3IN1 OIL, worked for everything. Did not last long if the gun sit for any long period of time.

If you want to spend a little more, I like to mix a couple. I mix Tetra gun grease with Lucas Gun Oil. The combination keeps it in places you want it to stay a little better than just oil, and it's not to thick like just grease. It is an EXCELLENT performer. The only thing I haven't yet tried it on is a .22 pistol, which are notorious for not cycling properly with bad lube/weak ammo.

Of course, if it's a SHTF situation everything changes and I'll use some cheap grease or CLP.

I have no idea where I got it or how long ago but I use Castrol Synthetic gun lube by Hoppe's. (Specially formulated by Castrol for Hoppe's) Works great.

I bought a few cases of this from a store in Valpariso (now gone) who bought case lots of everything at least five years ago. Still have a few cans left and it does work good. Saw the same cans in a LGS for at least $10.00 a can about the same time. Not sure if it is still around.

Mobile 1,0W-20. I fill up a small, old fashioned, push on the bottom type, oil can, that was made for sewing machine lubing. I got carried away once with it on my AR, oil ran down the barrel. First deer I shot it at, you'd think I shot a muzzle-loader, instant smoke screen. The 0W-20 makes my 1911's happy too.

I use and recommend a product called Weapon Shield. I got a free sample about a year ago and have been using it ever since on my XDM. It is a great CLP and the free sample came with a nice needle applicator.
