    Well, first you need to be a good enough shot that you're not spamming it after you've pissed it off and it's charging you. I might take my 7mmRM, which is a bolt, but I fire left handed and rack the bolt with my right, so I'm fast. Probably load a mag of .308 HPs for the HK91, though. I don't think it's gonna blow up in 20 rounds.

    Well the 1919A4 I owned would do a wonderful job with the 250 round cloth belts I used in it. Great for stopping a stampede. However in a standard rifle I have my choice of my 450 Alaskan lever gun, a 375/338 in a Browning BAR, or a 9.3X72R double rifle. These are for the larger animals of course. For medium game my 98 Mauser sporter in 8mm will do nicely with it's 20 round magazine attached.
