    I'm guessing that's for stuff other than woodworking...

    Well, yes and no. I suppose it could be used for a lot of things, but it is BEST for making things that need to be pretty flat, REALLY flat.

    Those uses very often includes chisels, planes, etc. most often used in woodworking. By the time you polish the edge to even the start of the microabrasives, I can tell you it is pretty effin' sharp; it will peel of thin layers of walnut and oak like it isn't even there.

    Look at a chisel like that just even a SHADE more sideways than it thinks you ought to, and you'll be rewarded with a scar.

    I was going to post a funny/sarcastic remark about gluing sandpaper to you had and shooting the gun. Then I actually thought about it. Maybe it could work? Actually putting the sandpaper on a glove. Something similar to this...
