Best: I now use the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power. Smooth, cuts well.

Worst: Pretty much any Single Blade Travel razor!

How did I become the OP of this thread? :dunno: I remember responding to it, not creating it!

I use an old school Gillette safety razor. Tough to beat with $0.10 blade refills.

The worst are the razors whose refills cost $2.00-3.00 each.

Whats the best/worst razor to shave with?

    Best
The kind you buy only once and never have to buy again or get refills for.
    The straight razor!

There is a learning curve and it takes a bit longer to shave with it but alas you can use it over and over and over and it will outlast you and your son and your grandson!

    Worse
Any of the new crap out there now that have disposable blades that don't last long and can NOT give you a close shave.

Gillette Pro Glide sounds like the clear favorite, I'll give them a try.

I've recently started shaving my head with a razor. After years of using electric clippers, I've decided I'm sticking with the razor.

I used to have a Mach 3, but when I started shaving my head, the blades would only last about 1 week before they started to nick me. I had a free sample of the Fusion Pro Glide power, so I tried that and have never gone back. It's a closer shave and 0 nicks, even as the blade gets old. I'm not convinced the vibration does much; I haven't had a battery in it for a couple months. Blades are a bit more expensive, but they last me 3-4 weeks.

I use the head blade to shave my head. It works great but the shave could be a little closer. I might have to check into the roller razor for giggles.

How often do you shave your head? I talked to a guy who said he shaves his every morning. If your blades last 3-4 weeks of daily use, that might be worth a little extra to me.

I generally aim for every 2nd day. The thing I noticed on the Mach 3s was that once I shaved my head with it a couple times, it wasn't smooth enough to shave my face anymore. The fusion doesn't seem to have a problem going back and forth.
