Yikes. These were in my daughters back yard last week. She went :scared: when she discovered them. They were quickly dispatched. She said they moved in slow motion. El nino I guess. Discuss.

Color me curious...what kinds of snakes are they? I don't know my snakes well enough to ID them just from the pics.

If they're not venomous, I tend to leave them alone or even help em out... if they have fangs, they tend not to live too horribly long if they're around me. Thankfully, it's been a very very long time since I even saw a venomous one around.

Something ran them out of around that shed. Hard to know what. They were likely doing a lot of good pest removal.

Too bad naive folks think they have to "dispatch" snakes just for being snakes. :(

We like snakes here. Very rarely do we get any venomous ones. We've had a couple of Massasaugas but they were small and didn't bother us.

Could be vibration in the ground that brought them out. Tremors, seismic activity? Any other animals acting strange lately in the area?
The other day I did read that it was the anniversary of the Great New Madrid Earthquake of 1812...

There are only four kinds of snakes I don't like.
    1) Big ones
    2) Little ones
    3) Live ones
    4) Dead ones

when people say "That snake won't hurt you". I reply yea but it will make me hurt myself trying to get away from it. :runaway:

YUP too bad they probably were not hurting anything... I have had this chat with my mom numerous times. I call her Molly Hatchet she has a hoe that she turns snakes into bite size pieces.
