Do you realize that about half of republicans do not identify as conservatives? Not going to change until we do something about it. Trump has now taken over C-PAC and now the RNC from the CoC. It will take time to replace them all but we must do it.

Need to punish corporations and rich people.

It won't stop at 'rich' people. They want to tax 'unrealized gains'. That means when the value of your portfolio or asset goes up, even if you don't sell and realize the gain, you would be taxed on the paper gain. AFAIK there is no plan to let you deduct unrealized losses when assets go down

It will be billed as a 'wealth tax' and the camel's nose under the tent will be applying it, at first, only to the very wealthy - but there won't be enough there to feed all the spending programs they want, so once the concept is enacted it will be ratcheted down to lower and lower tax brackets. Given the nature of the beast, it will never be enough and spending will still outstrip revenues
