Man, it was a doozy! People around here don't know how to handle it well, either...there was basically no effort to clear or treat the roads at all, except the major highways...and they didn't bother salting them, just plowing them as they could. US 321, which is a heavily traveled highway that runs from Hickory to Granite Falls (and beyond, of course!), was basically shut down going north, because there's a big hill after a bridge that people kept sliding back down! Wow. Well, I guess they just don't see this much snow that often around here.
Right when it really started coming down, around 3pm. I'd just gotten back from the post office, and was glad I had no where else I needed to be!
About 4 hours later, same car!
Couldn't help but go for a walk and take some pictures...I love snow!
All in all, I'd say we got about 8-9 inches total, and right now there's sleet coming down like hell! They say maybe more snow tomorrow!
Ignore the timestamps on my pictures....I know they're off, as I never changed it after daylight savings time kicked in.
