I don't remember who had it - but whomever brought the suppressed .300 Blackout, I want to say an extra thank you.

Before that wonderful Sunday, I had heard of the .300BLK, and thought it was just another AR caliber, so I completely ignored it.

I overheard some discussion about the round, and later in the day, witnessed how quiet the rifle was with a suppressor. The suppressor shots won me over.

After reading up on the round, I decided that I truly wanted one. As luck would have it, the upper you see below was sitting in the INGO classifieds calling my name. It's already configured out how I wanted, which is a plus. I should have it in my hands soon.

I'll be picking up a stripped lower at Bradis soon and starting the paperwork.

Going to go as a Pistol at first? Then go SBR later?

If not, you may want to keep the upper at someone else's house until you get the stamp back so you can't be dinged for any kind of "intent" to have a built-up lower and an upper w/o tax stamp.

To be clear, I'm purchasing a stripped lower. I'm not going to purchase any parts for the lower until I've got my tax stamp and the lower is engraved. I have no weapons from the AR family at all. Would it still be possible to get busted for intent?

Not really. Just buy a pistol kit and set it up while you wait. :)

I had one, as did mammynun, who was set up next to me. My gun had the Gemtech MultiMount; his had the AAC SDN-6.

You're off to a good start with that upper and handguard!
