Stopped in to the Shootin Iron Shop yesterday afternoon and Randy teased me with a Ruger Takedown 10/22 with threaded stainless barrel. Since I already have one for myself, this one will be for my grandson when he turns 16 (he is only 7). It is really going to purse off my daughter- in- law. She is about as anti gun as you can get. I have even tried to take her out shooting, to no avail. His dad will take him out shooting. Enjoy the pictures! :D

Shooting is an awesome family sport. I would rather my son/grandson learn gun safety. Hopefully she will change her mind! Awesome gift! Wish you were my GP!! lol :yesway:

My first gun was a 10/22 as well when I was 8. I still have it, albeit in a different form. I shoot Steel Challenge with it and love everytime I take it out.

Just wondering if your gonna put it in the safe for 7yrs or are you going to let him shoot it with you earlier. my great grandma had a box of old guns that she let me start playing with (no ammo) when i was 5-6. I cleaned and even repaired a few that had minor problems. at 12 i got my first shooter a 552 speedmaster then a week later returned it and my dad gave me his 10/22. Happy days

Unfortunately he is in PA and I'm stuck here. Couple years before I retire. I'm putting this in our family gun trust along with NFA items. His dad is a trustee and he is a named beneficiary.
