Looking for some advice in regards to bow hunting out of state.

I’m an active hunter in Indiana and have been for over 20-years. I was born in 84’ and still took Hunters Education in high school. This upcoming season I plan to bow hunt in upstate New York and plan to purchase the required non-resident license and tags. The problem is that in the good ol’ state of New York, one is required a Bow Hunters Education Course (which is separate from Indiana’s general Hunters Education Course). I’ve searched and searched and am unable to locate this course in Indiana since it’s not a requirement here. It’s not a requirement in IL or OH either, although they offer this course online. (Only catch is you must be a resident in order to register there.)

So how does one bow hunt in another state that requires this course?

Does anyone know anyone who offers this course? (Must have it prior to October)

(Note: I have sent a message to the DNR and to a guy I found in another hunting forum, although it was from 2010. Still waiting to hear back from both.)

Any help would be much appreciated!

What you seek is the National Bowhunter Education class.
I don't know who is offering that in Indiana.
Took mine in the 80's..........guess a flood wiped out their records.
    My certification # is lost.

Much of hunter ed, and bowhunter ed.........is done online these days.
Doesn't replace the bloodtrail (fun stuff) in a real class.

    But ........

Thank you. I just found a list of online courses through varying states. Some you have to be a resident of to take the course and others you do not. Utah for example doesn’t require you to be a resident so I’m waiting to hear back from NY DEC to see if they’d accept the class.
