Marion County Fish and Game's Bowling Pin Match will be this Saturday, June 28th at 9:00 AM. Setup will begin at 8:00 AM and we would appreciate the help of a few volunteers. The Safety Meeting (required for new shooters) will be at 8:45 AM to explain the rules. At 9:00 AM, we will begin shooting.

I am proposing some rule changes and addition of new Divisions. Please check out this info which is posted under a separate thread in Shooting Sports and give me your feedback.

If there is severe weather, the match may need to be canceled. I will try to send an e-mail and post an announcement in the Shooting Sports section of www.ingunowners.com by 7:30 AM if it is obvious the weather isn’t going to cooperate.

The cost is $3 per bracket for club members and $4 per bracket for non-members. All money goes toward the club and/or making the competition better. Youth (under the age of 18) shoot free with a paid adult.

Bowling Pin Shooting is conducted under a COLD RANGE. That means all guns must be holstered (or bagged) at all times, unloaded, hammer down, with no magazine inserted. You may only handle your gun at the direction of a range officer (RO), or at the designated "safe table". Violation of this or any other safety rules shall result in a match disqualification.

If you have any questions about the match, please read the rules posted at: MCFG - Indy Range Official Website - Shotgun, Pistol, Shooting Range (look under "Programs and Events" > "Bowling Pins") If you are unable to find an answer posted in the rules, please feel free to e-mail me.

If you are interested in shooting Pin Heads, bring your .22 LR's (pistol or rifle).

If you are willing to help as an RO or help keep score, that would be greatly appreciated.

Hope to see you on Saturday.

some told me, someone else told them, that DonB gave his personal guarantee that it would not rain on Saturday's bowling pin match.

DonB is the best! Guess we have nothing to worry about.

I was going to suggest people be prepared to bring guns and ammo for shooting TX Stars if you prefer to shoot a different gun than what they use for bowling pins. If it is a heavy downpour, we could have shot from under the covered firing line.

But since DonB guarntees that it won't rain...

I'm sure if, someone told me that someone told them that DonB personally guaranteed fair weather for the bowling pin match, it must be true. Certainly any allegations to the contrary are shameful political propaganda and should be dismissed as hogwash. Personally, I believe in DonB's prognostication prowess, but I guess I'll bring something for the Texas star, just in case.

While the "DonB vs the weather" thing was a total set up, DonB handled the abuse with his usual grace and poise.
And we did unfairly tease him thoroughly for the precipitation.
Thanks to John and Don for a safe, fun, albeit soggy, pin match. (and everyone else who helped)

PS Nice to meet Tom E who'd drove a long way to play bowling pins
(yeah I know he drove down for the match on Sunday at ACC).

I sure wish i would have just stayed, the threat of a down pour and a bicycle doesnt sit to well with this rider. I was stinking up the range anyway.

It was fun meeting and shooting with your guys, both for Pins and Fri Nite Steel. You definitely made me feel welcome. Would do it again if the stars aligned so nicely but as it stands it looks like my only other time in Indiana this year will be for the Indiana State Steel Challenge at Riley CC in Sept. Thx again, Tom.
