My father recently picked up a Browning BDM 9mm from his local shop. I had never heard of this firearm before and wondered if anyone on here had one or knew much about them and their reliability? A quick google search revealed that they are somewhat rare as they have not been manufactured for 10+ years. There is just not much information out there.:patriot:

Years ago several of us had them. If I remember right they were
like the Sig 220 in 9mm. We really liked them . Can't remember if they had a American mag release or heel? Hope he got a good deal.

Are you talking about the Browning Dual Mode, BDM. I had one for a while. It was reliable and smooth shooting. It came out near the beginning of the so called Assault Weapons ban. Magazines were scarce as it would not use Hi power mags. It is one of the guns I wished I had kept just because they are uncommon.

They have an american mag release and are awesome pistols...
Fit like a glove....and you can carry 16.

Only gripe is that finding a holster is like pulling teeth...if you find a really tight 1911 holster or a really worn/stretched hi-power holster it works.

    God bless

My favorite pistol! I wish they would re-release them, and make a version with a tac rail.

With the prevalence of kydex holsters, fit problems are a thing of the past!
