Let's recap from the news story:

She lives near 42nd and Post.
She rides IndyGo route #10 to work.
    She works at Riley Hospital.
Her husband's name is Wendell Chinn.

With that info, it took me about 45 seconds to find her name on MySpace/Facebook.

However, apparently she wasn't so shy with WTHR:

Police investigating assault in hospital bathroom - 13 WTHR

U cheated! u r not suppose to use myspace/facebook to find people.
That is whay too easy since pepople post their entire lives, addresses, DOB, family pics on those places!

Okay, so was she attacked or was this mutual combat? I'm not blaming her per se, it just sounds like (from the news story) that it was mutual combat, but the title of the article makes it seem like it was a random attack. I guess it gets people to read the article if they think it was some random attack at a hospital.

    +1.

If she had been minding her business it would clearly be labeled as an "attack". Since she was involved in verbal sparring with them before it escalated then she has some accountability in the attack.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying she deserved to be attacked by 4 people but if you are being verbally harangued by 4 people it does you no good to verbally fight back. At best, it does nothing but possibly satisfy your own ego. At worst, you could have your right to claim self-defense removed if you have been found to be in mutually agreed combat.

It's not like your going to scare them away or "put them in their place". People who do that kind of stuff don't care what others think & (as in this case) are more than likely just looking for an excuse to escalate to violence.

They don’t have video from that area? I have been there around lunchtime and the foot traffic is crazy. You would think that in a very high foot traffic area by the main lobby they would have some kind of video cameras.

I’m glad she is ok and did what she did to these punks to walk away with bruises. It just shows the lack of security and that one has to look out for your own.

Heck ever walk the tunnel between the hospitals. That is creepy. I heard a story where a guy lived and acted as an employee for like 6 months down there and no one noticed that he was homeless until someone questioned who he was.

    Rant :
I have also walked into hospitals and even this one as a vendor and gone all sorts of places and taken computers out of nursing desks and no one questioned me. That is why I take safety into my own hands while at these types of places. I would love to be questioned by employees or security. Not for the hassle but for the knowledge they are looking out for the patients/employees/family.
