12.6 volts. Looks like a good test.

    Battery ok at rest

    13.6 is better.

Charging system working properly at idle

Slowly roll on throttle and watch the volt meter. Battery voltage should rise to 14.5~15 volts then stop rising, If voltage does not rise the rectifier is the most likely cause. If the voltage continues to rise over 15 volts the Voltage regulator is faulty. In either scenario replace the regulator/rectifier unit.

Funny story, true story. Didn't think about it until now

Yesterday the battery on my Volt meter went out. So after I got home from work my fiance and I went over to the CVS. While there we decided to pick up some refreshments for this weekend. We walked up to the register and laid down our purchases to be rung up. Which were: A bottle of red wine, a 12 pack of beer, a bottle of rum, and a pack of 9V batteries.... I wonder what the poor cashier woman was thinking. I should have grabbed a box of condoms just for effect.

Almost as much fun as one of my purchases. Duct tape, plastic sheeting, zip ties, and a staple gun. (I was sealing up/isolating a server room's plenum space to reduce cooling costs) The only thing better would have been to ask the cashier if they sold quicklime.

A colleague happened to be in the next aisle and said "make sure you pay cash for that so they cant trace it back to you". The cashier didnt put 2 and 2 together and just looked at us funny.

Or maybe cashier was just tired of the same old jokes. When I worked in the retail sector (High School years) you get tired of the customers attempting to show their "wit", it gets old and all you can do is smile and say thanks you and come back again.

Thanks for taking us along on your trip ... the sights were spectacular ... the sounds were melodious ... the smells ... well, we all could have done without the smells
