    The link above does a good job of insinuating that the accident was the fault of the gun for not having a "traditional" safety lever. Towards the end of the piece, they mention the drop safety. The supposed reason the gun "went off" was being dropped.

    I think it depends on who is doing the talking.

    The news media for the most part are happy to call this an accident and blame it on the gun. Mostly liberal anti-gunners, the media is happy to help us think that gun control would fix this.

    Those of us that understand the responsibility of gun ownership and proper gun handling know that this would have never happened had the gun owner not been negligent.

    I read that the baby has passed away.

    [FONT=&amp]A 4-year-old boy shot accidentally on Sunday by a bullet from a gun that discharged while he was wrestling around with his father has died.

    [FONT=&amp]Tripp Shaw passed away at 8:17 a.m. Thursday from head injuries sustained in the Sunday night shooting at his home in the 1200 block of Zinnia Drive south of Bloomington, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office reported

    [FONT=&amp]The child's father, 36-year-old Tyler Shaw, was struck in the head with the same bullet that killed his son. The dad's injuries were not serious.

    [FONT=&amp]Police reported that the two were struck with a bullet from a Glock semi-automatic handgun that Tyler Shaw had tucked into his pants when the accident happened about 8 p.m.

    [FONT=&amp]Sheriff Brad Swain said the boy's mother and 2-year-old sister were also in the house when the gun discharged. He said the weapon has been sent off to be tested for any defects that may have caused it to fire unexpectedly.

    [FONT=&amp]"This case remains active by Monroe County Sheriff’s Office investigators," according to a news release sent Friday afternoon reporting the child's death. It's not known if any criminal charges will be filed in connection with the shooting.

    [FONT=&amp]In Indiana, a person can be charged with felony criminal recklessness if he or she "recklessly, knowingly, or intentionally performs an act that creates a substantial risk of bodily injury to another person" while armed with a deadly weapon.
