I have one and it is decent. Super light, but obviously not as strong as a forged lower/upper. Haven't had any issues with mine with 2k+ rounds through it. But I haven't shot it in over a year since I have others I like more.

1 Hater has arrived. The only AR I've ever had a mechanical issue with was a Bushmaster, but that happens it doesn't black list them for life with me it just makes me nervous. I get the appeal of a super light weight AR, and I get that the carbon 15's generally will hold up fine for the normal guy who thinks putting 200 rounds through his rifle in a year is a lot. I also understand there's going to be fanboys saying it's the best thing on the planet. I commend PSA for making such an incredible deal to the general public and this rifle is made for people who don't want to spend a nickel more on an AR than they have to. I get that, but ultimately I just can't bring myself to ever buy one when just another $50 goes so very far in the overall durability and reliability of the rifle. Not trying to be a hater, but I'd tell guys to spend another $50 if they were willing or able. If they aren't then go ahead and buy one of these because it's the dirt cheapest ar-15 out there.

Which AR's are in the "another $50 category"?

I had one and had to send it back to bushmaster twice. They ended up changing the barrel because it wasn't heat treated correctly :n00b:. Took a total of 6 months and several angry phone calls to get it right. I didn't have any problems with it once it was fixed. Dealing with there customer service left a sour taste and I haven't had anything to do with them since.

At that price, that's pretty tempting. The Carbon 15's have a bit of a checkered past though. The Internet is full of horror stories, although my buddy has owned one for years with zero problems. That said, he shoot's it sparingly. Usually it's a bump fired mag from the hip, and then it's put away again. If you are someone who is hard on stuff and or uses it alot, I would go with an aluminum receiver set.
