I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Taurus 692 line of revolvers. I have 586's / 686's, but the factory porting on the 6.5" 692 makes it more pleasant to shoot (with aftermarket grips.) Also, with the 692, I can shoot 9mm or 380 if I get the urge. Seems like four calibers in one is noteworthy. Cylinders swap without tools in less than 10 seconds, and it's an accurate pistol to boot.
Caliber versatility is a key with me, that's why I also love my Smith 610-3.
Also, before the mudslinging begins: To everyone that poo-poo's Taurus revolvers, I have four new-style wheelguns - 692, 992, 627 and a 441, and they all function 100%. Again, just worth noting.
