I just went to True Value in Greensburg and bought a couple of 3/4" Allen head machine screws for $.50 each. Also had problems getting MOE on Anderson lower, took a flat file to inside of grip

I consider this normal for Anderson lowers. I've built several and all have been the same. The reason some do not notice is that Magpul grips come with a shorter grip screw as do some LPKs. Personally I have always just used a few washers as spacers just because I've had them laying around. Buying a shorter grip screw is probably the best fix.

Every Anderson lower I've seen has been GTG.

I ran into this on my Spikes "Peckerhead" when I changed to the MOE grip. It was fine with the stock M4 grip but the MOE would move close to an 1/8". I had more screws here and found one close to 1/4" shorter and went that route.

I have an Anderson lower and just went downstairs and checked it...and, lo-and-behold, it's only tapped about 3/4 of the way through as well!

Just curious, but is the screw that Anderson includes with their lower parts kit(s) shorter than others, specifically for that depth of the tap?

Thanks for the heads up. I picked up two of these a few days ago and just ordered a moe lower kit from PSA. I'll be interested to see if I have the same issue.

I bought 3 when I found them on sale. Only one is threaded all the way through. Not a big deal, but I can see how it could be irritating for some ppl.

I must be lucky with them. I've probably had 4 of them and never had an issue.

We always (usually) run a 1/4x28 tap on new lowers when installing grips. Use a ss hex cap 1" 1/4x28 bolt with star washer. :ingo:

Just a note......I had a new in the box Rock that I tried to assemble a few days ago......It was a mess.
Just took some time/effort to clean up a few areas but I will say they all screw up now and then.

I also have to run a tap.1st time, ground screw a 1\8 or so.Next one, tapped it further. The appearance and fit( minus tap issue) has improved much from a few years back.Rural King,$ 58.00 out the door.Kind of hard to beat.
