I'm old enough to remember the LA Riots in '92, when citizens there found out the hard way about the 15 day waiting period on firearm purchases from a law passed in 1975. (Current law in California reduced that period to 10 days, passed 1997).

This time it's not just LA, but the whole country affected and citizens in certain states are once again finding out the hard way about how "common sense" gun laws will impact their ability to protect their families. Meanwhile in some of the large cities, the police are stepping back from enforcing laws like vandalism, assault and theft.

I hope that some of these Everytown, Moms demand Action and March for our Lives types grow up and learn a lesson, namely, you are responsible for protecting your family. (And isn't it odd we haven't heard from David Hogg lately?)[/QUO

    Don't jinx us.

When I served on the NRA Board I was at lunch one day with Charlton Heston as he was telling us about Hollywood elites who were calling him during the riots trying to borrow guns from him. Seems the Beautiful People were unable to obtain them due to the fifteen day waiting period in the Land of Fruits, Nuts & Flakes. His response was, "And you supported that law, didn't you?" *CLICK*

Interesting story. I keep hearing folks say that they don't need a gun, they'll just borrow one when the time comes. The time is here and they're finding slim pickings, from their neighbors and at the gun stores.

We may remember the riots of 1992 but we have to remember there are a whole big bunch of people were born since then that have no idea what the riots of 1992 were.

Now imagine that just before their 10 days will save babies waiting period expires, if all heck breaks out and honest people who hate firearms but now realize their value find out why "shall not be infringed" is so important.

---there is a mob coming up our driveway, quick call 911---what do you mean they are not responding due to the stay at home order???? Who is going to protect us now-------

I wish people would stop mentioning that these people should flee Kali. They are already moving into the surrounding states and turning them into **** holes. They keep their other leftist viewpoints and continue to vote for them. We don't need to accelerate the wave.

Isn’t that how it always goes though. They make a mess of their own area and then abandon it for a free area that is doing quite nicely. Then once there, they start the same crap there that turned their previous state of residence into a **** hole.

Liberals are like a virus that seeks to prosper at the cost of whatever host they’re suckling off of. There needs to be an equivalent of a can of OFF for mosquitos. I suspect the only thing to slow these idiots down would be strong Constitutional support, the requirement to work for their income and the need for personal protection.

The language in the Constitution today is written in the dialect of the 1700s and is being twisted today to mean whatever liberals want it to mean. The need to work for their income is being circumvented through socialist policies that have other’s working and giving liberals a cut. Personal protection is really the only consistent thing that makes an impact on them. The liberal politicians protect themselves and make the morons believe that they too are being protected but those idiots have not enough sense to see that politicians that promote gun control are not protecting you, they are protecting themselves from you.

Only when the promise of protection is seen to be a lie, do the liberals begin to think that they might need to do something other than practicing the best method of cowering. This will end though as the pandemic will run its course and those new gun owners will see the gun as an ugly reminder. They’ll celebrate by having mass scrapping or buyback events and go back to being worthless.

    Sorry for the rant.

It’s hard to stand on his soapbox and proclaim how evil guns are when all of your time is waiting in line for a gun

Exactly, you are responsible for your family's protection.

Call me cynical. I love seeing commies cry for the very stuff they thought I didn't need.

Those 'type' people don't need what they think they need...2020 and COVID-19 ARRIVES..."Wait a minute, this is going to take HOW LONG???"

"But, but, but. . . . . . Those laws don't apply to me! They only apply to "them"! You know, Them!":dunno:

Interesting how fast the tables have turned once they realize that it's THEIR butt on the line and not just someone else's!

Now the new to be gun owners will get to see how much fun and paperwork are involved in the purchase of a firearm and ammo. Bet most didn't know there are more calibers than just 9mm ammo out there.

"Wait a minute, this is going to take HOW LONG???" "And I have to do WHAAAAAT???"

    What's a '.45'? I thought that was a Glock! Dang, now I'm completely confused!!!

    Don't jinx us.

I remember watching the LA Riots in '92 on the tube...it was the year after I graduated from college...and seeing scenes of those Korean dudes protecting their business(es) from the rooftop!

Interesting how their version of 'common sense' (read 'control') suddenly isn't working when it's their butt on the line! And, dialing 9-1-1 is just going to voice mail when it comes to a response?

I've understood that protecting one's family has always been an individual's responsibility to start with...
Why? Because a cop's too heavy to carry around and there's never one around when you really need one in the first place!
