that is a great deal thanks for the info

u r welcome. BTW there is NO LIMIT on the amt of ammo you can buy. You if you want to get 10 "packs" of this sale you can. Provide they have 10 and you pay the 69.99*10 price tag. =)

The last time they had this similar sale (no ammo dry box) they had more than enough ammo for everyone. I walked out with 5 boxes of 525 and the guy behind me had a cart of about 25 boxes!

BTW there will be lots of other ammo on sale that week. They are have a huge ammo sale but I'm not sure if any of the other ammo is a "good price" or not. Since I don't follow many of the other calibers.

I can tell you that the .45 will NOT be a good sale. .45 per round I think.
Also the 7.62x39 (steel case) will be at around .26 per round. Again not a good sale.

Isn't that a little more than the Walmart everyday price? Or am I doing the math wrong? Guess I don't get why a guy would buy a cart full.

Wal-Mart sells the 525 Federal Bulk Pack for $16.99 to $18.99 depending on which one you go to. So on the cheapest end you will pay 18.18 with tax which comes out to 0.0346 per round.

The cabela's sale is 69.99 so with tax it's 74.89 for 2,100. Or 0.0356 per round. The difference is with the cabela's sale you get the "free" plastic ammo dry box.

So the difference per round is 0.001 between wal-mart vs cabela or $2.10 when you factor in 2,100 which is what you get for the cabela's sale.

So in reality the plastic ammo box is costing you $2.10.

Guess it comes down to do you want the ammo box for $2.10 or not.:dunno:

Also to note is that between 02 MAY - 18 MAY if you make a purchase of $199 or more (either 1 item or multiple items on same sale) and put it on the Cabela's CC you get 12 months of 0 interest. So you can get an 10 month, 0 interest loan to buy the ammo as well provided you 3 "packs" or $209.97 in ammo which is 6,300 rounds.

Heres blazer for .032 cents per round Dunn's sporting goods . They did have the fed bulk but they ran out. Was .030 per round, both were shipped to your house for that price. Of course you might be able to get a cabelas discounted gift card from plastic jungle and save an extra 8-12%.

Messed up my decimal places yeesh lol.
I should negative rep you for that one. ;)
OK that is also a good deal. It's for 1,000 rounds right? So in the end it comes down to

    1) brand Federal vs Blazer
    2) Do you want the "free" plastic dry box (really $2.10)
    3) Do you want to drive to Cabela's & buy MORE stuff :D or have it shipped to you

    BTW...

Remmington Golden Bullet (RGB) 525 Pak of .22LR will also be on sale for 15.99 at Cabela's this week as well. That's $0.0325 per round after taxes. But RGB is a dirty, dirty little bullet and after about 100 rounds via my 10/22 the shoots are all over the place. Plus every now and then I get duds with RGB. I would put it in the category under PLINKER ammo!

I keep getting Cabelas gift cards every year for Christmas. I do not like to buy from Cabelas as their shipping seems to be high. Add price, tax and shipping and all of the sudden things seem pretty expensive. Put that on top of getting a piece of crap wooden display box for a black powder revolver and powder flask that their customer service told me would be bumped up to a higher level for resolution and I have yet to hear anything back for several months, Cabelas can keep their hard back catalogs that I get every year. I used to be very happy with Cabelas, but since a lot of their stuff started coming from China, they have lost my business for sure. Look around and you will probably find better everyday prices that compare favorably to Cabelas' sale prices.
