What POs me in the EXTREME with Cabelas is if I order powder and primers for ISP is I still HAVE to pay Hazmat plus tax. I asked the CS rep why on earth doesn't Cabela's figure a way to include customer orders of powder and primers with their normal orders by simply upping the amount of each they order so all we must pay is ST, and the CS rep had no answer for me. I don't know if there is some ATFE rule that doesn't allow this, but if not Cabela's looses ALOT of $ales to on line competitores.

As I use and strongly prefer Federal LG/rifle and LG/Mag rifle primers and Cabela's has been one of the VERY few who has had them in stock in the last 5-8 years (MO only) that I could find so I bought 10K each which combined with what I already have, will last me a life time and I had to eat the hazmat fee. Fortunately I now have sufficient numbers of brass, primers and lbs of powder for all my reloading needs that I will use in at least 1-1/2 to 2 life times and are now just stock piling bullets and 22lr.

My advice to all who reload who aren't already doing it, is do what I do, that is every time you can buy some reloading components, a pound of powder here a few hundred or 1000 primers there, couple 100 bullets etc, until you have all you think you will ever need because eventually the dirty rotten socialist s.o.b's AKA the demacRATS will be back in the drivers seat in D.C and they will undoubtedly once again commence warring on us with an eye to ammunition which I STRONGLY as possible believe is the Achilles heal of all firearms.

My experience...if you want to buy a hat, tshirt, or overpriced hunt clothing, go to a Cabelas. If you want firearms/accessories etc. go to a LGS. I've been to some great Cabelas stores in some western states but have always been disappointed locally.

You are correct, but Cabela's was THE ONLY store I found at that particular time/moment that had the powder, primers and especially brass in stock I needed so I was left with little option. To be more accurate when I ordered large rifle, magnum primers Cabela's at that given moment were the only ones with Federal LRG/RFL/MG primers in stock that I found in over 3 years so I was left with either paying through the nose or risk going another X amount of years with out. I also ordered 10K Federal LG/RFL primers because it was well over a year the last time I saw any in stock anywhere let alone OTC. Now that I recall I have been to EVERY place that sells reloading components less than 100 miles from my home one way and I still have not found any of them to have any type of Federal large rifle primers in stock. Yes I have been told they had them BRIEFLY but were all quickly bought almost as soon as they hit the shelves.

I know I should try rifle primers from Remington or Winchester, but I have had such excellent results using Federal LG/RFL and LR/RFL mag I am quite hesitant to change. Thankfully now I wont ever have to.
