:dunno:Just curious as to why a lot of the guns for sale don't state what caliber they are. I suppose if it was made in only one caliber, people familiar with that firearm might know. Recently there have been a few guns that caught my interest, but the caliber was unknown to me. Can't always tell by the pics. I know i could send a pm or Google and see what calibers the gun was made in, but thought it might help others too, if it was in the ad. As for me, it may have stopped me from spending money on another gun, the bank account's been taking a pretty good hit lately!

I think sometimes we forget and take for granted that everyone knows what's what. A factory Glock 19 is always 9mm, a S&W Model 629 is always .44 mag, and an SKS is 7.62x39mm but not everyone may know this.

    Depends on the weapon...

    Say if someone's selling a Glock 19... They're always gonna be 9mm.

If someone's selling a G22.... They're always gonna be .40S&W unless there's a conversion barrel involved (or two)

If it's a Mosin Nagant rifle... It's almost assuredly 7.62x54R...

Ruger LC9... 9mm, that's what the "9" means in the gun name.

Kahr CW-40.... Again, the title tells it. Kahr PM-9... That's in the title, too.

But you're right, there are many firearms for which there are multiple chamberings possible.

A GOOD advertisement will have plenty of information about the gun, location, price, etc. And photos. Especially photos.

But, some folks still like to post an add that says "Gun for sell, $300."

If the caliber isn't stated I usually send the poster a PM, most times they just say they forgot to add it in their ad and they add for every to see.

I'm guilty of not putting caliber in my listings....
I will reedit and add after being reminded or asked.
