Don't discount the porn industry. As the porn industry, (and it's internet component) have risen the rate of sexual violence in this country has dropped. Not only do they contribute a significant amount to the bottom line in California (and in federal taxes, too) they've contributed to a drop in sexual violence. Porn is apparently a good thing.

Beyond that they are a driving force behind new technology a lot of the time. VHS won over betamax because thats where porn went. Same for bluray over HDDVD, and would there really be an internet without porn?



That said, it does seem like Cali should split into 2 separate entities. Hollywood with their messed up ideas, and the rest of the state. From what I remember of my brief stay in the state, its a lot like Illiniois. A very vocal minority in the large city are making the rest look bad.

California is also one of the most popular competitive shooting states in the US. I was shocked when I found out it was second to Arizona. 120+ shooters attending IDPA events a couple times a month? WOW!

Of course Northern CA is way better for shooters than SoCal

California could care less about their citizens. I go there for work all the time, and we have an office in Westwood. It scares the hell out of me to go around that city without any form of protection. The gang-bangers are strapped, my business partner saw a guy fire a rocket at a police helicopter, and the condo complex right next door to where I usually stay had a huge Armenian gang drug bust back in February. Oh, and they had a ton of weapons on site too.

How jacked up is it that these are the neighbors, and if they decide to attack you, or each other, while a law abiding citizen is walking their dog, all California says is....best of luck to you pal!
