Nice government model!! I lube the underside of the slide and the trigger. Other than that just keep her oiled up! Take it easy taking it apart and putting it back together and you won't make the idiot mark.

What's the idiot mark? I am new to 1911's and I want to make sure I haven't already made it.

once you start shooting the 1911 you will never go back to the glocks. I have 2 Para 1640 lda pistols, and i love the way they shoot.

I thought *I* owned the only 16.40 LDA in town!

Great picture illustrating the idiot mark on the frame right behind the trigger.

Insert the pin only half way before rotating it so that it doesn't scrape the frame.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't done that one yet. Nice to know about these things before I make that mistake. Hopefully, I never will.
