Yep FCU = Fire Control Unit is the serialized firearm (which Sig is also selling separately now and does require an FFL)

But the grip modules are not the firearm and easily purchased.

Thanks everyone. This whole modular thing is just a bit odd to me. But I do appreciate the options it affords.

just curious if there is a disclaimer on the fire control unit such as read instruction manual lol.

Its no different than an AR receiver. Think of it that way. Do you grip the serialized piece of an AR pistol to shoot it? (with either hand) Do you need a 4473 to buy AR pistol/fore grips?

See? Not that different when you think of it that way.

Makes sense sometimes I have difficulty seeing things in a different light. which is common knowledge lol

I just realized that if Uncle Joe has his way, the answer will soon be "yes".
