I've been reading where guys can shoot the G17 better than the G19. Something about the finger grooves having more space between...

    Anyone else experience this?

My 17 has no finger grooves.

Which means my post is meaningless :):
I though it was the name Bunnykid that made your posts meaningless... :p

I think the finger grooves are all spaced the same, there is just more pinky room on the full sized frame. The slightly increased sight radius is a more likely reason some people find the 17 easier to shoot well. It's the same reason the competition guys use the 34 or 17L.

I read where the G17 and G26 finger groove spacing is the same, but the G19 spacing are closer together.

I've been reading different things, but I'd like to check one out.

I've had both several times together and I always keep my G19. I don't remember much difference in the finger groove spacing either, honestly I always shoot the 19 better. And since it's my EDC and favorite pistol it is always safe with me. When funds allow I always end up buying another 17 to play with for some reason but it's always the first to go when I want to pick something else up. I'd stick with the 19.

I've owned both at one time, and yes I shot the 17 more accurately than the 19. I no longer own either one of them. I still own 2 Glocks a 31 and 32, and I shoot the 31 better than the 32.
The 31 is a full sized pistol.

I have a 17, 19c and a 26. Can't tell much difference between the 17 and 19, thought about selling the 17 because of this. I like the 26 better than either of the other two.

In the past, I've owned two different G19s and 1 G17.

I felt as though I shot the G17 much better than the 19. The size of the grip (a bit longer), the longer sight radius, and slightly more weight all came together into an absolutely fantastic package.

Stupid me for selling that one. :-(

I'm tall and have big hands, yet I feel I shoot the compact G26 or M&P9C better than larger guns. I think it is the shorter sight radius that makes them faster to point and aim, and easier to get the sights aligned. No pinky required. Maybe at long distances the longer barrel would start to shine, but for a defensive CC pistol I'm sold on the compacts. I will say that since my hands are large, I can't go any smaller than a compact, the grip and trigger become a mess if I go smaller.

The 26 is a sub-compact and the 19 is a compact. Prob meant can't go smaller than a sub.

I shoot my 26 and my 19 better than the 17. I guess it might be the shorter slide length. I am not really sure what the reason is, but I shoot the 26 better than both of the others.:dunno:

I shoot my 17 much better than I shoot any other glock that I have shot (19,20,21,22,27,30s, 31). I am sure it is a combination of total rounds fired and low recoil rather than the finger grooves though. The biggest advantage the full-size grip has in terms of accuracy is that follow-up shots are faster, for me anyway.

I shoot my 17 better than my 32c or 21sf. Better than others I've shot also. 26,19,23,27 etc. Not sure why but seem to shoot mine better than other 17's I've had the chance to shoot. Convenient....
