Sweet little axe. I've only split kindling with mine so far but once I got started I didn't want to stop. Who was the craftsman that made yours? I remember seeing the initials on mine but don't off hand recall his name.

Mine's initialed AS, which from what I've read means Anders Strömstedt made it.

Very nice! Is that from the shop in Noblesville? How are there prices and is it worth the drive?

Unfortunately, going up to Noblesville didn't work out for me Friday night, and they were closed when I was in Indy for the INGO AK Build Party Sunday. Bought it off a dealer on Ebay for $119 shipped.

How about the Council Tool Boy's Axe? I've been meaning to buy one and they are around $35. I have one of their 3.5# Dayton axe and it is a damn good tool for the money. I believe their Boy's axe now comes in three offerings: standard, Forest Service model (which I'm having a hard time finding for sale lately, probably because of the introduction of the Velvicut version), and the Velvicut.

Council Tool, American Manufacturer of High Quality Hand Tools - Product Detail - 2.25# Boy's Axe w/ 28" Curved Handle

Council Tool, American Manufacturer of High Quality Hand Tools - Product Detail - Velvicut® 2.25# Premium Bad Axe Boy's Axe & Sheath

I'd really like to see a review comparison between the versions of the Boy's Axe and thew Gransfors and Wetterlings offerings.
