Can I pay for another members site supporter status?

At the NWI INGO meet and shoot, I sponsored the rifle competition. For first place, I offered a $10 cash prize OR that I would pay for 1yr site supporter status to the winning member. Am I allowed to do this? If so, should I just send the payment via PayPal and include the winners username?

If you decide to use the Automated Tool in your UserCP, send me a PM AFTER YOU DONATE and I'll take the year off of you and add it to the other person. Otherwise, you can donate in person or via snail mail. That's a manual process anyway and we can make the adjustment when we apply it.
