Fun fact: Justifiable homicides are up. Of course, so are police action shootings. Roughly 4 citizen justifieds to every 1 police.

Can't say how much or how little is related, given the complexity of the issue, but the general citizenry is shooting more people who they believed needed shot at the time and MCPO is generally agreeing with their reasoning, giving no files.

2024 is starting out samey-same. Obviously very early on in the year, but justifieds are piling up already.

Just wow. Does this approximate ratio hold, or does it vary significantly over A) time and B) city?

No idea city to city. Time wise, no. Ratio was much closer to 2:1 for the years in previous decade or so. General citizenry has almost always had the lead each year but the gap has grown.

I've no firm theory as to why. Guessing is the best I can do.

A government study supporting Constitutional Carry? How can that be?

In my 25yrs, I cannot remember a time when so many criminals were armed and willing to shoot ANYONE. Correlation does not mean causation but Ohio study results would likely not be repeatable here. So what would that say for the whole Constitutional Carry debate?

When better gun laws are debated there are often headlines predicting that blood will flow in the streets.
And then, a year later, we see a story buried in the back page that the predictions were wrong.

What bothers me is that the results of new gun laws rarely need to be debated. Simply look at a different state that has already implemented that same law. How did it work? Did a gun restriction reduce crime? Did increasing gun freedom have negative consequences? Facts matter.

Hogs**t, if he were being logical (or honest), knows that neither guns nor lack of restrictions on them don’t cause violence.

Case in point, taking credit for crime reduction (“it’s our strategy”) at a time when firearm restrictions have been at their lowest in decades.

That said, he and his partners in crimes against our rights will not stop working to remove them, and will never acknowledge the conflict between reports like these and the “need” to restrict rights to reduce crime.
