Can you cerakote a 1911 barrel and hammer?

I am wondering because I know the tolerances are tighter in a 1911 than they are in some other guns, and I am thinking about getting my 1911 Cerakoted.

The hammer and barrel are starting to develop some surface rust and i would like to protect them with some sort of good coating.

I am wondering if I got them cerakoted if they would still fit and function properly in my gun.

while I don't have first hand knowledge yet... I figure if they can 'kote an AR15, you can 'kote damn near anything!

yes you can, the paint build up is negligable
