Interesting. All of my adult life I have been amazed how politicians can usurp our Constitution. "Shall not be infringed" is pretty simple even for me to understand.

I don't see how that is true...I mean the most recent thing I can think of is same sex marriage. Didn't some states have that written into their constitution or was that just state law? Maybe I'm wrong here, or was it a supreme court decision that trumped the state laws? IF that's the case couldn't the same thing be done if 2A was abolished and the supreme court could still impose it on the states?

Repeal? No one is going to repeal it. They will just ignore it. One more SCOTUS Justice flip and it only means the officially state sanctioned militia any way.

I also think the whole concept of God given rights is nearly gone since we no longer believe in God. People try to get silly and change it to natural rights, but that has no real meaning. You only have the rights that your society is willing to give you in our new social philosophy.

The headline is somewhat misleading. Obviously, the second amendment can be repealed. Any part of the constitution can be amended, including being repealed.

The point is that the right to keep and bear arms is inherent, and does not depend on ink on paper in order to exist, or to be asserted. Repealing the second amendment would not remove that right; rather, it would merely make it potentially lawful for the government to infringe upon that right.
