    Hey if it's illeagal to take pictures inside a Casino, it's illeagal to carry your gun. An Excise officers caught me taking pictures with my camera phone. And I had to delete every picture I had taken while he stood there and watched! This was jsut after the big building opened hit about $350 on a slot, and never been back. Those things are built by the losers, not by the winners. I work too hard for every dime I get in my paycheck, nothing against those who like to gamble, it's just not much fun to me. :popcorn:

    Isn't Blue Chip considered a riverboat? I thought that was the whole reason they could get around the laws and they have real dealers and such. Just wondered I live between LaPorte and Michigan City and go to those casinos often, just been scared to carry to Blue Chip.

    Yes Blue Chip would be a riverboat and having dealers wouldn't be getting around the laws since they are allowed to have them? Or did I miss something. You refering to the racino's not having dealers because they are not riverboats and don't have dealers? of course many of the riverboats are no longer true river boats since they allowed them to stay docked they would still be grandfathered under the previous riverboat laws...

    Whatever Excise officer made you delete photos off your phone does not know the law, nor do they have any authority to keep you from taking pictures. Photography is not a crime, nor do they have the right to tell you any different. Anyone who tells you to delete photos can go pound sand. They didn't even have any right or PC to look at your photos to see what images you took.

    :xmad::xmad::xmad:

    Then again, if cops don't or aren't willing to learn proper firearms laws, then I don't expect them to know the laws about photography either.

    Keep a copy of this with you, even if you're not a photographer. No, I'm not affiliated with this site, but as a photographer, I keep several copies with me, including one in my wallet.

    While I agree in general and almost always, at a casino in IN yes it may be a crime. In fact a felony.
    IC 4-33-10-2
    Class D felonies
    Sec. 2. A person who knowingly or intentionally does any of the following commits a Class D felony:

    (3) Uses or possesses with the intent to use a device to assist in:

    (B) keeping track of the cards played;
    If any of the photos taken showed cards on the table....:n00b:

    That and it is against the rules of every casino to prohibit picture taking. I'm not sure if a gaming or excise officer has the authority to enforce the rules though.

    And I wasn't in the mood to pick a fight with the officer, the pix just were not that important to me. Funny thing was I saw plenty of other people taking pix. And I did notice a "photography prohibitied" sign on the way out.

    At Blue Chip Casino, there is a sign before you leave the "lobby" to walk through the security checkpoint that enters the casino floor that states: NO FIREARMS...they don't pat you down, or make you walk through a metal detector, so I guess it's reallly up to you to chance it.

    Here's a copy of the email I received after inquiring at Blue Chip Casino concerning firearms.

    Steve:

    All Firearm storage must be done prior to going on the casino floor. If anyone with a Indiana gun permit to carry a weapon, we have storage lockers located in our Security Dispatch located in the main hallway.

    Thank you

    If there ain't a race track, it's legally a riverboat amd a no-zone for your firearm. Get caught and lose your license or worse.
    I just spent an hour looking through the IC about the casinos at race tracks and found nothing in either the casino or race track laws concerning firearms, so I would say that they are legal.
