Has anyone ever been?
Suspect it's considered a military base but unsure..
Last I remember, you aren’t even supposed to have one in the car on museum property, but it’s been quite a while since the last time I was there.

Thanks but no...As others have said, carry is a no-go there. They have clearly posted signs and metal detectors, plus it's a federal building. Don't carry there. But have a great trip...it's an awesome museum!
To each their own. I get it...I feel naked without a gun and hate going places without it. But it's a very safe environment, and you'd be missing out on a cool experience. Plus, if it's safe enough for my family to go without me, it's safe enough for me to go with them unarmed. If something did happen, I'd rather be there with them unarmed than not there at all. Thanks but no...

This. Go. Have fun. You are far far FAAAAR more likely to be killed in an auto accident on the way than to need your piece while there. To each their own. While it’s your business Respectfully that’s a silly self centered outlook. Your family would probably enjoy taking it in with you and you the memories. It’s much more than them shopping in a store your missing. Thanks but no...

My Daughter and Son in Law live in Xenia and that’s a decent town. Son in law is a program manager at Wright Pat and being retired I am in and out of the base a lot when I’m over thereEast Dayton/Riverside is a rough area. In fact, 99% of the City of Dayton is medium/high crime area. (Dad was a Dayton police officer) The federal property the museum sits on is pretty secure.
The towns around Dayton are pretty safe. There is some spillover from the gangs and drugs in Dayton, into the surrounding communities. The farther you get from Dayton, the safer it is.
Next time I travel to the museum, my CCW will be locked in a cabled lock box, under the rear seat of the truck. When I leave the museum property, I will travel to Huber Heights or old Clayton, park my truck and put on my CCW. Don't take this as legal advice. I'm just an old man who grew up in the area and worked over forty years for the USAF.
The Naval Air Museum is awesome, as is Wright Pat.I was in Pensacola on Tuesday and we went on base to visit the Naval Air Museum and try to see the Blue Angels practice. The museum and flight line are on the base proper, so no gun, not even in the car. We had a good time and nobody tried to kill us. The only regret is that the Blue Angels practice got cancelled due to low cloud cover, so we missed out on seeing that, but Fat Albert did make a pass.
