I have a trip to eastern Pennsylvania coming up at the end of the month. After checking handgunlaw.us, it appears their their carry laws are actually fairly similar to Indiana's. Any PA natives or frequent travelers know anything different?

Note: I will likely conceal for this trip, as I'll be in committee meetings all day and don't want to get folks sidetracked. Might OC when out-n-about, though. I also have my Utah permit, so travelling through OH isn't a big deal.

    Thanks in advance!

Specific? No, not really. I skimmed over the info on handgunlaw.us, and didn't notice anything too unusual. That's what has me concerned!

    - So, is PA a "must inform"? Didn't look like it.
    - OC seems legal, but how accepted is it? Any better/worse than IN?
    - Any strange places off limits? Only thing I saw was all casinos, even if it is just a slot machine in the corner.

I'll be in York at the fairgrounds and then a hotel conference room.

    1. I have found no statute as to a duty to inform in PA. However, places like Philly may have funky ordinances. Carmel HP has experience in Philly so may want to PM him.

    2. I have never seen OC of handguns in Pennsylvania. My brother reports that he has not witnessed either and he has been there three years now. My eyes did not wide in a place called Kane, Pennsylvania where I saw the widespread practice of open carry of long guns, and it was Spring not deer season.

Just checked my Concealed Carry 50 States app and it indicates no duty to inform.

Open carry legal. Open carry in a car and in Philadelphia requires a permit.

First let me recommend pafoa.org it is PA`s version of ingo. Being a PA native, I can tell you the carry laws are very similar. OC in philly should be advoided, unless you like verbally abusive police pointing guns at you. PM me if you want sugguestions on where to eat,see etc. Enjoy PA.

    Yuengling? What's that? :dunno:

Kidding... Haven't had it in years, so just might need to pick up a case.

Thanks for the help, folks. Looking forward to the trip!
