Anyone have any experience with carrying in downtown Nashville? I know they honor our CCW but I was curious about the number of businesses who might make me carrying more difficult.

I went to Nashville for the NRA Annual Meeting. Had a great time even though they gave away my hotel room.

It's the South, so they have their whole booze and guns issues to deal with, nonsense about "Demon Rum" and all that.

But I was with my dad and we didn't go out and party down.:D It's hard to keep up with a 78 year old in a shot contest.:D

We did 3 breakfasts and one dinner in this place (we didn't do lunch): http://frothymonkey.com/

Great coffee, good food and no signs, recommended.

Only issue I had in Nashville was the traffic on 65 north of Nashville.

Follow signs, though I didn't really notice any

Last time I was there (after I had just received my LTCH and a new IWB holster, I noticed that I was not the only one with a couple funny spring steel loops/clips on my belt.

If bar hopping, leave the gun in the hotel/car... or pass on the drinks.

Thanks for the info all.. We are going to be there during the CMA festival so I really didn't want to have any issues with carrying. I don't drink much so that is not a problem. And would you believe me if I said I put CCW on purpose to see how many comments it would generate? :)

If you are going to open carry then make very sure you look for signs before entering any business. If you are going to conceal I wouldn't worry about it.

I was there for NRA. A lot of the bars around 5th have signage.
One had a two story Gadsen Flag and no guns sign on the door.
They did not get any of my money.

Can you cite a reference for this? I also thought the no drinking and carrying rule was TN law, thought I remembered that from when I was working down there, but now I can't confirm it. I know this is true in Ohio.

I could not confirm this on Handgunlaw.us or at OpenCarry.org.
